Stars Forward Commits to Quinnipiac University

Press Release

Lincoln Stars forward Tommy Schutt has committed to play college hockey at Quinnipiac University following his USHL career.

Schutt has produced nine points (4g, 5a) in 22 games this season for the Stars.  Two of his goals have been game-winners which came in consecutive games – October 20th vs. Fargo and October 26th vs. Youngstown – and were part of a five-game point streak he put together earlier this season.  It is the second USHL season for the 19-year-old from Chanhassen, Minnesota after he collected 20 points (7g, 13a) in 47 games during the 2011-12 campaign.  He was along among team leaders with a plus-17 rating last season.
Four other current USHL players are also committed to Quinnipiac University; Peter Quenneville (Dubuque Fighting Saints), Joe Fiala (Indiana Ice), Connor Clifton (Team USA), and Sam Anas (Youngstown Phantoms).

Quinnipiac University is located in Hamden, Connecticut and is a member of the ECAC.  A total of eight USHL alumni are on the Bobcats roster this season; Ben Arnt (Omaha Lancers), Loren Barron (Indiana Ice), Alex Barron (Waterloo/Indiana), Mike Dalhuisen (Lincoln/Chicago), Eric Hartzell (Sioux Falls Stampede), Cory Hibbeler (Lincoln Stars), Jordan Samuels-Thomas (Waterloo Black Hawks), and Soren Jonzzon (Youngstown/Tri-City/Waterloo).
