Lawson lands deal to play for Crusaders

Press Release

The Prince George Spruce Kings are proud to announce the scholarship commitment of Cameron Lawson to the College of the Holy Cross and the Crusaders men’s hockey team.

The College of the Holy Cross is a NCAA Division I school located in Worchester, Massachusetts.

Lawson, an off-season acquisition, is a 19 year-old forward from Vancouver. Currently sitting in the top-three in team scoring with twenty points, Lawson has scored twelve goals and eight assists so far this season.

“We are very happy for Cameron,” said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. “He has been everything we had hoped for when we acquired him last summer. He's a good, hard working player, a tremendous young man, a great teammate and an excellent student who is very deserving of this scholarship.”

“This is a great opportunity for me,” said Lawson. “They showed interest in me very early on this season. I feel I will be getting lots of ice time and the opportunity to study in a very good school.”

Lawson becomes the fourth Spruce Kings player this season with a NCAA Division I scholarship along with Coltyn Hansen, Jace Hennig and Kevin Guiltinan.
