Press Release
Ralston, Neb. – The
Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to
announce they have acquired veteran defenseman Dominic Racobaldo in a
trade with the Fargo Force. The acquisition of Racabaldo completes
Omaha’s transaction with Fargo that sent Kenny Gillespie to the Force
last week. The Lancers will also send defenseman Frank Schumacher to
Fargo to complete the exchange.
“We’re extremely excited to
have Dom back in Omaha,” Lancers Head Coach/GM Mike Aikens said. “He’s a
veteran defenseman who will provide a steadying presence on the back
end while bringing leadership to our locker room.”
In 23 games
this season, Racobaldo has registered one goal, four assists and five
points to go along with an even plus-minus rating and 46 penalty
minutes. The native of Pennsauken, New Jersey was acquired by the Force
early last season along with fellow blueliner David Mead in a deal that
brought forward Tanner Lane to Omaha. Racobaldo tallied one goal and
10 points in 47 games in Fargo last season after opening the season with
one assist in nine games with the Lancers.
Originally selected 164th
overall (Round 11) by Omaha in the 2010 USHL Entry Draft, Racobaldo
began his USHL career with the Lancers recording five assists and 37
penalty minutes in 41 games during the 2010-11 season.
