MUSKEGON, Michigan (October 12th)
– The Lumberjacks are proud to announce that Forward William Messa has
committed to play for the Northeastern Huskies of the Hockey East
Conference beginning in the 2013-14 season.
The Parkland, Florida native was
drafted in the 17th round of the 2012 USHL Entry Draft by the team after
spending the previous three seasons playing for Lawrence Academy in
Massachusetts. Messa tallied 62 points (19 goals and 43 assists) in his
three seasons at Lawrence Academy.
“Northeastern offers the best
academics to help suit my needs, and their gritty hockey style is what I
enjoy playing the most,” said Messa. “The facilities were top notch and
the coaches made me feel right at home. It will also be an honor to
participate in the annual Beanpot Tournament with Harvard, Boston
College, and Boston University.”
This season is Messa’s first season in the USHL as he laces up the skates as a member of the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
