The Western Hockey League completed its 20-year-old cut-down draft on Thursday, October 11.
The Everett Silvertips selected 20-year-old defenceman Connor Cox in the draft, while releasing 20-year-old forward Cody Fowlie. Cox was released by the Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday.
WHL Clubs had until 10:00am MST on Thursday to designate their maximum of three 20-year-old players. Selection in Thursday’s cut-down draft was done in inverse order of the current WHL standings.
The following 20-year-old players are now free agents following Thursday’s cut-down draft:
Everett – Cody Fowlie, forward
Moose Jaw – Austin Bourhis, defence
Regina – Andrew Rieder, forward
Vancouver – John Niebrandt, defence
