Press Release
Regina, Saskatchewan - Due
to the NHL lockout and the Edmonton Oilers decision to assign Jordan
Eberle to their AHL Affiliate in Oklahoma City; the Regina Pats have
been forced to postpone the Jordan Eberle Jersey Retirement Night
scheduled for October 9th, 2012.
“It is extremely disappointing to us that the NHL lockout has affected us in this manner,” says Pats President Brent Parker.
“We scheduled the night to be in advance of the NHL Season and with
everyone expecting a work stoppage we were very comfortable with the
October 9th date. What we didn’t foresee, nor could we have,
was Jordan being assigned to the AHL. With preparations underway for
their season starting October 12th, the Oilers were not in a
position to release Jordan to attend this special night. We are
certainly not going to proceed without Jordan and his family in
attendance, thus we have decided to postpone the night. We will work
with the Edmonton Oilers organization to find another time when we can
proceed with his jersey retirement.”
Jordan Eberle on the
chance to return to Regina for the event. “It's a huge honor to have my
jersey retired and I always love coming back to Regina to see friends
and family. I can't wait to share this event with them and the fans who
supported me throughout my junior career.”
The new date for the Jordan Eberle jersey retirement night has yet to be determined.
