OIL KINGS EXTEND GM BOB GREEN'S CONTRACT

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings are very proud to announce the contract extension of General Manager Bob Green. Green has been the General Manager of the Oil Kings since their re-entry into the WHL in 2007. Last season he was awarded the Lloyd Saunders Memorial Trophy as 2012 WHL Executive of the Year.

The 2011-12 Oil Kings skated to the best record in the WHL with a 50-15-3-4 mark for 107 points to capture the Scotty Munro Memorial trophy. The Oil Kings would go on to win their first WHL Championship in the modern era, earning a trip to the Memorial Cup in Shawinigan, QC.

The Oil Kings WHL Championship roster included 18 players selected by Green and his staff through the WHL Bantam draft and the CHL Import Draft. In addition, Green bolstered the Oil Kings lineup with the acquisitions and recruitment of players such as Tyler Maxwell, Jordan Peddle, Henrik Samuelsson and Cody Corbett.
