Imoo stops all but two, wins first Gongshow POW honour

Powell River Kings goalie Jonah Imoo has been name the Gongshow BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 14, the league announced Monday.

Imoo helped the Kings to three wins and recorded his first shutout of the season in the process. The Surrey native stopped 72 of 74 shots on the week for a .973 save percentage to go along with a 0.67 goals-against average.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound 18-year-old evened his record at 7-7 on the season as the Kings leapfrogged Nanaimo in the Island Division standings.

West Kelowna Warriors defenceman Josh Monk (two goals, two assists, game-winning OT goal, 1st Star, 3rd Star.)

Merritt Centennials defenceman Tyler Martin (three goals, 2nd Star)

Surrey Eagles defenceman Devon Toews (three goals, two assists, 1st Star)

Powell River Kings defenceman Jordan Burns (two goals, four assists, 1st Star, 3rd Star)

Chilliwack Chiefs forward Josh Hansen (four goals, one assist, 1st Star)
