BIG WEEKEND! Kelly Hrudey & Michael Olson Night

The Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to welcome Kelly Hrudey to Frank Crane Arena this weekend. Hrudey is a proud member of the ownership group of the  Nanaimo Clippers and is looking forward to catching the rivalry action Friday October 26th 7pm vs. Cowichan Valley and Saturday October 27th  7pm vs. Powell River Kings.

In celebration of their 40th Anniversary Season, the Nanaimo Clippers will honour Alumni members prior to puck drop at every home game. On Friday the 26th of October, the Clippers will be honouring two of the top single season point getters in Nanaimo Clippers history. Teammates from the 1979-1980 Season, John Newberry collected 185 points and Dave Wheeldon collected 154 points respectively. “ We are excited to have John and Dave in attendance Friday night, their stats speak for themselves, they are a huge part of the history of this franchise.”  Nanaimo Clippers Director of Sales & Marketing Jen Kennedy

Saturday will see the Clippers honour the most popular Captain in franchise history with Michael Olson Night. Michael Olson, currently serving as Clippers Assistant Coach collected 248 points in 224 games in his BCHL career, spanning from 2002-2005. Among his many awards, Olson was selected as the 2005 Canadian Jr. A Player of the Year.   “When fans recall their favorite memories of our team, they often include Michael. He gave his heart to this community as a member of the Clippers roster from 2002-2005 and has invested the same and then some as our Assistant Coach. We are so fortunate to have him back in our community and are incredibly proud to be honouring him this Saturday” Nanaimo Clippers Director of Sales and Marketing Jen Kennedy.
