Press Release
KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the club has traded 16-year-old prospect Kaleb Denham
to the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a 7th Round pick in the 2013
Bantam Draft and a conditional 4th Round pick in the 2015 Bantam Draft.
Denham,
a 6’3 170-pound defenseman from Innisfail, Alberta, spent the 2011-12
season competing as a member of the Red Deer IROC Chiefs, appearing in
30 games and collecting 6 goals, 22 points and 87 penalty minutes.
Denham, who was originally a 6th Round (126th overall) pick by Tri-City
in the 2011 Bantam Draft, competed in the Americans’ rookie camp this
past August before being re-assigned to the Red Deer Optimist Rebels for
the start of their Alberta Midget Hockey League season.
“With
the recent signings of Carlo, Hillis, Wotherspoon and Fraser, I felt it
was only right to give Kaleb an opportunity to play in the WHL and
close to home,” explained Tory. “He got crowded out here, but he is a
quality kid and player. We wish him well in Red Deer.”
