Americans Acquire Rights to Tigers’ McAndrews

Press Release

KENNEWICK, WA – Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the club has traded for the rights to 17-year-old prospect Devon McAndrews from the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for a conditional 6th Round pick in the 2014 Bantam Draft.

McAndrews, a 6’3 200-pound left wing from Edmonton, Alberta, spent the 2011-12 season competing as a member of the SSAC Athletics Midget AAA team, appearing in 30 games and collecting 8 goals, 17 points and 57 penalty minutes.  McAndrews, who was originally a listed player by the Tigers, competed this season in the Tigers’ training camp before joining the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.  McAndrews has already appeared in 8 games for the Saints, collecting 1 assist and 14 penalty minutes.

“Devon is a big power forward with a huge upside,” stated Tory.  “We hope that, after conversations with Devon and his family, he decides to join our program.”
