Don’t look now, but the second Atlantic Junior Hockey League (AJHL) Showcase of the season is less than a week away.
The event, during which all 12 teams will play three regular-season
games, will be contested from Oct. 5-8 at Cyclones Arena in Hudson, N.H.
“We’re looking forward to another great weekend,” said AJHL director of hockey operations Jeff Nygaard.
“Our first showcase (held from Sept. 21-23 at IceWorks in Aston, Pa.)
was well received by all the scouts and coaches in attendance, and we
expect that to continue in New Hampshire.”
Bill Flanagan, head coach of the Northern Cyclones, echoed those sentiments.
“It was a great opening showcase (in Aston); the Little Flyers did a
fantastic job,” said Flanagan. “For so early in the season, the scouting
presence and competition were very good, and we’re looking forward to
attracting as many - if not more - scouts this time around thanks to the
improved quality of our teams over the last few weeks.”
The third AJHL Showcase will be held in Hudson over Thanksgiving
Weekend (Nov. 23-25), and the final event will be held over Presidents’
Day Weekend (Feb. 15-18, 2013) at Iorio Arena in Walpole, Mass.
Another non-league showcase is scheduled for Dec. 12-14 at the ISCC in Simbury, Conn.
