WOLVES' SUPPORT ‘AAA’ MIDGET CHAMPIONSHIP

The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that the Burgess Family and the Sudbury Wolves will sponsor the 2012 Midget AAA Central Region Championships in Sault Ste Marie. The Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves will open the tournament when they play the Mississauga Rebels today at Noon at the Essar Centre to kick-off the six-team tournament. The Champion will advance to the Canadian Midget ‘AAA’ championships.

The Sudbury Wolves are celebrating their 40th anniversary in the OHL and the Burgess Family are celebrating their 25th year of ownership. The Wolves are supporting a number of minor hockey events in Northern Ontario this season including: the U17 NOHA camp in April and the U16 OHF camp in May.

"It is our pleasure to support this event and continue to give back to the game of hockey in northern Ontario" states Wolves' CEO Mark Burgess. "The OHL and our franchise continue to benefit from northern Ontario hockey players and my family is pleased to be a part of this prestigious event."

A number of drafted players and draft-eligible minor midget players will be participating in the event which leads into the OHL Priority Selection online draft on April 7th.

Participating Midget AAA teams include: SUDBURY WOLVES, SAULT NORTH STARS, OTTAWA Jr. 67'S, LONDON Jr. KNIGHTS, MISSISSAUGA REBELS, and the WHITBY WILDCATS.
