WAXERS WELCOME NEW COACH

Press Release

The Markham Waxers officially introduced Jason Nobili as the club's new head coach for the 2012-13 OJHL season.

Here is the official release from the Waxers website:

Chris Vanstone, Director of Hockey Operations and General Manager of the Markham Waxers Junior A Hockey Team is proud to introduce Jason Nobili as our new Head Coach.

Jason has been coaching professionally for 15 years. He recently returned to OJHL in 2009 taking the Oakville Blades to the RBC Cup. The last two seasons he was with the Toronto Jr A Canadiens, and he was also an Assistant Coach for the 2011 Canada East Team at the World Jr A Challenge. Jason has been involved in the Hockey Canada Under-17 program, winning gold in 2004.

Prior to that, Jason was the Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations for the Reading Royals in the ECHL, a team within the Toronto Maple Leafs Organization.
Before his Head Coaching roles, Jason was an Associate Coach with the Florida Everblades in the ECHL in the Carolina Hurricanes system, and with the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL.

Jason also has ties to the Waxers, as his brother Steve Nobili played for the team in 2000-2002, and was an assistant captain.

The Waxers are very excited to have Jason on board and are looking forward to the upcoming season!
