Steelers Coaches playing in Allan Cup

Steelers Head Coach Ryan Smith and Assistant Coach Justin Harris will be heading to the upcoming Allan Cup (Canadian Senior AAA Hockey Championship) in Lloydminster Saskatchewan, April 16-21, 2012.

Both Coaches play on Manitoba’s South East Prairie Thunder who is representing Manitoba after defeating the Manitoba Lightning 4-0 in the best of 7 series to capture the 2011-2012 Senior AAA Manitoba Championship.

Smith who plays centre and is the team’s captain, played professionally in Europe for 12-year’s (1992-2008) after playing in the MJHL with the St. James Canadians for one season (2001-2002). Smith is playing in his fourth Allan Cup.

Harris who is a goalie, played for the Selkirk Steelers (2002-2005) and the University of Manitoba Bisons (2006-2007), will be participating in his third Allan Cup
