The Host Organizing Committee (HOC) continues to plan a special week for the upcoming Fred Page Cup (April 25-29) at the Kanata Rec Complex. The Championship will feature some great hockey on the ice as four teams compete to earn the right to represent Eastern Canada in the RBC Cup. All the action starts up on Wednesday with round-robin play completed on Friday, the semi-final on Saturday evening and Championship final on Sunday afternoon.
The tournament is pleased to be hosting the Fred Page Cup All-Star Luncheon on Saturday, April 28th at the West Carleton Meeting Centre (Noon-3:00pm). The banquet will be attended by all the participating teams and other local dignitaries. It will acknowledge and reward the Championship All-Star Team, Most Sportsmanlike Player and Most Outstanding Player. The event will be emceed by “World Renowned Trivia Expert” Liam Maguire and the guest speaker will be former CCHL stand-out and NHLer Randy Robitaille. Robitaille played two years for the Ottawa Junior Senators, received a scholarship to attend Miami of Ohio. He was signed by the Boston Bruins in 1996 and went on to play 531 games in the NHL where he accumulated 256 points (84G, 172A).
