Petes Trainer has a date with the Dragon's Den

Press Release

Brian Miller has faced some tough opponents in the past as the Head Trainer of the Peterborough Petes, Saint John Flames (AHL) and Guelph Storm hockey clubs. On April 16th, 2012 he is scheduled to walk into the CBC’s Dragon’s Den and take on the “Dragon’s”, not as a Head Trainer, but as an inventor and entrepreneur.

Miller decided that there had to be an easier way to fasten ice skates on people’s feet than the current use of skate laces. He has been working for 3 years on his invention, that he calls OPTION B. Brian has developed a system of 3 velcro straps that fasten to any current pair of skates to replace the skate laces. OPTION B Skate Straps simplify fastening ice skates on anyone’s feet. It also gives independence to young skaters, seniors, amputees’ or physically disabled skaters who would otherwise need assistance putting their skates on.

“I used the Option B all summer long. Option B straps allowed me to have the feel of laces without the hassle of actually tying them. They take seconds to put on and are easily adjusted. They allowed me to perform to the best of my ability and get onto the ice in a hurry.”
