KVEW, KHQ Agree on Broadcast Schedule for 2012 Western Conference Semi-Finals Series

Press Release

KENNEWICK, WA – The Tri-City Americans and Spokane Chiefs, in partnership with their flagship television stations KVEW/KXLY and KHQ/SWX, announced today a joint agreement on a broadcast schedule for the upcoming 2012 Western Conference Semi-Finals, best-of-seven playoff series.

The schedule includes live coverage of Saturday’s Game 2 at Toyota Center along with Games 3 and 4 at Veterans Memorial Arena. Play-by-play voice Kevin Uretsky and color analyst Kevin Sawyer will have the call beginning at 7:00 p.m. LIVE on KVEW-TV’s My Network for Tri-City residents. My Network is available on Charter Cable channels 78 and 280, as well as over-the-air digital on channels 42.2 and 35.2.

If necessary, My Network also has the option to air Games 5, 6 and 7.

“We’re excited to continue this valuable partnership between our franchises and broadcast partners and are thrilled that both fan bases will have the opportunity to watch what promises to be yet another classic chapter in one of the WHL’s best rivalries,” said Americans’ Interim VP of Business Operations, Dan Mulhausen.

Tri-City will match-up with their longtime U.S. Division rivals, the Spokane Chiefs, in the second round, best-of-seven series. It will be a re-match of last year’s conference semi-finals series, which the Chiefs won 4 games to 2, advancing onto the Conference Finals. This will be the sixth time the two WHL rivals have met in the post-season, including the third time in the last five seasons, with Spokane holding a 19-10 advantage over the Americans.

The series will kick-off with Game 1 at Toyota Center in Kennewick on Friday, April 6th. Tickets are on sale now through all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Toyota Center box office, all Fred Meyer outlets, or online at ticketmaster.com.
