Cope Commits to Rivermen

Press Release

Township of Langley, BC, Wednesday, April 4, 2012: The Langley Rivermen Junior “A” Hockey Club is pleased to announce the commitment of forward Trevor Cope (1994) to the team for next season. Trevor hails from Commerce, Michigan and played last season for the Victory Honda U-18 team. Trevor had an outstanding year recording 18 goals, 28 assists in 36 games along with 111 penalty minutes. He also had Junior “A” experience last season in the NAHL with the Corpus Christi Ice Rays where he posted one assist in three games as an affiliate player. Trevor was also drafted into the USHL by the Lincoln Stars in 2011.

“I am really excited to be joining the Rivermen, I feel it is a great opportunity for me,” said Cope from his home in Michigan, “the atmosphere seems like a great place to play in and the community and the team just felt like a great fit for me.”

Trevor is 6 feet, 190 pounds and can play any forward position, which Rivermen Associate Head Coach, Jordan Emmerson is a big fan of,

“Trevor is a piece of the puzzle for us, he is a versatile, gritty forward with a good skill set and plays both ends of the rink very well,” said Emmerson, “he brings an outstanding compete level and produced at a high rate in a very good league last year and we expect him to come in here and contribute right away.”

Trevor had other Junior “A” options around North America, but thought that the BCHL was the right route to go,

“It seemed like the right place for me and it is a great league from what I hear and cannot wait to get to Langley and get started,” said Cope.
