CODY BRADLEY COMMITS TO COLORADO COLLEGE

Press Release

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The college commitments keep on coming for the Fighting Saints. Dubuque forward Cody Bradley announced today that he will start his collegiate career at Colorado College in the fall. Bradley has played in fifteen games for the Fighting Saints this season, compiling 6 goals and 4 assists in that span. In time split between the Fighting Saints and Indiana Ice this season, he has scored 9 goals and added 9 assists in 31 games.

“After taking a look at all my options and talking with the coaching staff, I felt like Colorado College would be the best fit for me,” Bradley said. “I want to go to a school that will give me an opportunity to play right away. I know that I’ll be able to make an impact as a freshman at C.C.”

Colorado College will spend one more season in the WCHA before joining the newly-formed National Collegiate Hockey Conference in 2013-14. Two former Fighting Saints are already with the Tigers – both Jordan DiGiando and Scott Wamsganz moved on to Colorado College after helping the Fighting Saints to a Clark Cup championship last year.

“I’m really happy for Cody Bradley,” said Fighting Saints Head Coach Jim Montgomery. “He’s an exceptional player who is going to an exceptional college hockey program. Our fans got a glimpse of Cody’s ability to make plays this year, and we wish Cody the best of luck in his collegiate career.”

Bradley’s decision to commit to Colorado College means that 15 of the players on the Fighting Saints 23-man roster have now made their college decisions. Including Bradley, three of those players have committed in the past week, with Ryan Siiro choosing Princeton University and Kevin Morris picking Miami University.

The Fighting Saints will play twice at home this weekend to close out the regular season, hosting the Chicago Steel on Friday and the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Saturday. The Clark Cup Playoffs will likely start for the Fighting Saints on Monday, depending upon the outcomes of this weekend’s games. Tickets are available by phone at (563) 583-6880 and in person at the Mystique Community Ice Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on game nights up until the start of the second period. Tickets are available 24 hours a day online at DubuqueFightingSaints.com.
