2011-12 OJHL AWARDS CEREMONY/CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE

Please be advised the Ontario Junior Hockey League will be hosting a very special pre-game ceremony prior to game one of the OJHL Championship Series, where the year-end award winners will be presented with their commemorative award.

Eleven of the thirteen different award winners are expected to be in attendance and will be honoured prior to game one on Thursday, April 5 at the Stouffville Arena in Stouffville, Ontario. Game time is 7:30pm. Confirmed to be in attendance are:

Participating in the Championship Series:
• Ken Burrows (Stouffville Spirit) – Executive of the Year
• Christian Finch (Stouffville Spirit) – Top Scorer & Most Valuable Player
• Paul Geiger (Stouffville Spirit) – Baycon Construction Top Defenceman
• Devin Shore (Whitby Fury) – Rookie of the Year & Top Prospect

Non-participating Award Winners:
• Dylan Goddard (Cobourg Cougars) – Most Gentlemanly Player
• Andrew Groombridge (Georgetown Raiders) – Trainer of the Year
• Darcy Murphy (Wellington Dukes) – Most Improved Player
• James Prigione (Oakville Blades) – Top Goaltender
• Karen Sheppard (Pickering Panther/Whitby Fury) – Volunteer of the Year
• Adam Shibuya (Toronto Jr. Canadiens) – Scholastic Player of the Year

Unavailable to attend:
• Matt Dineen (Newmarket Hurricanes) – Humanitarian of the Year
• Greg Walters (Georgetown Raiders) – Coach of the Year

Also to be unveiled will be the first-ever winner of the OJHL Fan Favourite Award as selected through online voting by the fans. The recipient of this award will also be in attendance.

Below is the full schedule for the 2012 OJHL Championship best-of-seven series to be played between the North-West Conference champion Stouffville Spirit and the South-East Conference champion Whitby Fury:
