Schedule set for SIJHL Bill Salonen Cup final

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Friday the schedule for the Bill Salonen Cup finals, featuring the Wisconsin Wilderness and the Fort Frances Lakers, is now set.

The best-of-seven series for the SIJHL championship will get underway on Sunday, April 1 at the Northwest Sports Complex in Spooner, Wis. with the opening face-off being at 7:30 p.m.

Game 2 goes following night back in Spooner, with this contest starting at 7 p.m.

Action will then shift to Ice for Kids Arena in Fort Frances for games 3 and 4 on April 4-5. Both of those match-ups feature a 7:30 p.m. start time.

If necessary, the series will continue at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 in Spooner with game 5.

A sixth game, if required, will be on Monday, April 9 back in Fort Frances at 7:30 p.m.

Should a seventh and deciding contest be necessary, it will be played on Wednesday, April 11 with Wisconsin serving as the home team at the Northwest Sports Complex. Game time would be 7 p.m.

The Bill Salonen Cup champion will then advance to represent the SIJHL, along with the host Thunder Bay North Stars, at the 2012 Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canadian Jr. A Hockey Championship April 17-21 at the Fort William Gardens.
