Darou to join Northeastern this fall

Press Release

Dustin Darou has made a commitment to attend Northeastern University in Boston this fall on a hockey scholarship. The five-year veteran of the CCHL played his first four years with the Smiths Falls Bears before he was acquired in a summertime deal and has proven his worth on the backend for the Canadians. He's tied for 6th in team scoring with 43 points and is the leading scorer among defencemen on the team.

Jason Clarke had nothing but praise for Darou. 'Dustin is a guy we had our eye on for a while and when we made the deal to get him, we knew he'd fit right into the system. Not only has he had his best offensive year, he's been a great leader in the room and on the ice for our younger players to look up to.'

Congratulations Dustin and best of luck in Boston next season! (Nathan can be reached at fourniern@students.nescom.edu)
