Saints’ Chartier named MJHL Manitoba Pork Peak Performer of Month

Brett Chartier of the Winnipeg Saints believes in making a difference in his community. And it’s that quality which earned the veteran forward the Manitoba Pork Peak Performer of the Month for October.

Chartier, 20, has been honoured with this award for his unconditional commitment to his community and unselfish volunteerism. While enjoying a strong month on the ice, Chartier also works hard away from the rink with persons with special needs.

“Brett is responsible for two individuals with special needs and brings them to practice regularly to be around the team and hang out in the dressing room with the players,” MJHL Commissioner Kim Davis said of Chartier.

“These two individuals love being with Brett and around the Saints players.  Brett manages to play an important role with the Saints as team captain, attend university courses and make a difference in the lives of individuals with special needs throughout the season.”

Chartier, who hails from Winnipeg, leads the Saints in scoring with 16 goals and 27 points: six goals coming via the powerplay.
