Kalamazoo forward Chad McDonald commits to Ferris State

Press Release

The Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that former K-Wings forward Chad McDonald has committed to NCAA Division I Ferris State University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA).

McDonald, 18, played in 12 games for the K-Wings this season, including all four at the NAHL Showcase where he was approached by Ferris State. He recorded 15 points in those 12 games and was named the NAHL's 3rd star of the week on September 19th.

Kalamazoo head coach Marc Fakler was happy for his former player. "Chad got off a to a tremendous start with our team this Fall," said Fakler. "His hard work during the summer paid off and was a part of our early season success as a new program. Our organization would like to congratulate him on his commitment to Ferris State. It especially means a lot is that he’s local player and that he was noticed while playing with Kalamazoo in the NAHL."
