TBIRDS' NOEBELS SIGNS WITH NHL'S FLYERS

Press Release

Kent, WA - The Seattle Thunderbirds today announced left wing Marcel Noebels has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL.

"We are very excited for Marcel to have agreed to a contract this early in the season," said T-Birds general manager Russ Farwell. "He showed great potential last year and now he is able to skip the usual pressure of playing to earn a contract and can concentrate on refining his game and habits. This will allow him to excel in the North American style of play in the WHL and NHL."

Noebels was selected by the Flyers in the fourth round, 118th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Noebels played 68 games last season with the T-Birds and had 54 points on 28 goals and 26 assists. He was the T-Birds' first round selection, 10th overall, in the 2010 CHL Import Draft.

Noebels was a member of Team Germany at the 2011 World Junior Championships. He had a goal and two assists for Germany in six games at the tournament
