Majors Name Lajoie Executive Vice-President

Mississauga, ON – The Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors have named Roger Lajoie to the position of Executive Vice-President, effective immediately. Duncan Stauth will stay with the organization in a consulting role for several months, before moving on to pursue other opportunities.

Roger has been involved with the Majors for 11 years in various capacities. He has been a contributing writer to stmichaelsmajors.com and been the play by play voice of the team on radio and television, most recently with Rogers TV Peel Region and The Haze FM.ca. Roger has also covered the team for the Toronto Sun and Mississauga Life magazine. When the team was still in Toronto, he spent time as the Director of Game Operations. Most recently, he served as the Communications Co-Chair on the 2011 MasterCard Memorial Cup Committee.

In his vast experience in the sports industry, Lajoie has also worked for the Canadian Hockey League, the Ontario Lacrosse Association, the Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club and the Oshawa Generals Hockey Club. He also served as the Business Manager of the Toronto Marlboros Jr. A Hockey Club when they played at Maple Leaf Gardens.

Stauth leaves the Majors after six seasons. He guided the team through the move from Toronto to Mississauga and was instrumental in building the franchise in their new market. He served as Vice-Chair of the 2011 MasterCard Memorial Cup in Mississauga. He also served as Alternate Governor for the Majors throughout his tenure. The entire Majors organization would like to thank Duncan for his year’s of service.
