Kujawinski Commits To Sting

Press Release

arnia, ON – Sarnia Sting Head Coach and General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Ryan Kujawinski to an OHL Contract and Education Package.

“It is an exciting day for both the Sarnia Sting organization and the Kujawinski family. Jim Debenham and our entire Scouting Staff were excited to draft Ryan 4th overall. His combination of size and his skill set are rare for a player his age. Ryan has continued to improve at every level and his draft stock rose throughout the season. Again we are thrilled to have Ryan and his family commit to both the Sarnia Sting and the Ontario Hockey League” commented Jacques Beaulieu.

Ontario Hockey League Central Scouting offers the following scouting report of Ryan.

“Kujawinski is an offensive minded forward that possesses some natural ability and physical tools. He possesses size, a very good stick and he can skate. Once he is up to full stride he displays some speed and deceptive quickness to stay on the play, and he always seems to be around the puck. He is at his best when he has the puck on his stick and handles it with a ton of confidence. He loves to attack on the rush and isn’t afraid to attack one on one. He started to use his linemates more effectively as the season progressed.”

Beaulieu adds, “We are extremely pleased to have a commitment from Ryan and his family to the Sarnia Sting and the Ontario Hockey League. We feel Ryan is a pro-caliber player with a bright future in hockey. As well, in signing this agreement should he chose an alternate route he now has an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship available to him. We look forward to developing Ryan both as a hockey player and as an individual during his time with the Sarnia Sting.”

Last season with the Sudbury Wolves Minor Midget team, Kujawinski scored 35 goals in 24 games and would add 21 assists for 56 points.
