Commandos announce details of 2011 prospect camp

Press Release

The Dieppe Commandos Hockey Club announced today the details of the 2011 Prospect Camp that will give local kids an opportunity to showcase their talent.

The 2011 Commandos Prospect Camp will be held August 26th, 27th, 28th at the Arthur J.-LeBlanc arena and is open to any players born 1994 to 1996 who played last year at the Bantam AAA, Midget AAA (Development or Major) or High School level. This showcase will help the Commandos recruit local talent as they reload for a season that looks promising.

Just like last year, the camp will feature three scrimmages (6 hours on ice) and an off ice session. It will test the on ice abilities of each player and also evaluate their conditioning level. Only two teams with a maximum of 3 lines, 6 defenseman and 2 goalies per team will be accepted (34 players). A minimum of 4 players will join 2011 Commandos main training camp scheduled to start August 26th as well. We encourage everyone to register early as we ran out of room very fast last year. Avoid disappointment and register now.

“This initiative was put together a couple years ago to make sure that everyone had the opportunity to show what they could bring to our organization. In fact 6 of our 2011 draft picks have participated at one of the past 2 prospect camps. It is at the same time an excellent opportunity for these kids to be seen by many scouts of different levels and to prepare for other camps,” said Jean-François Damphousse, General Manager of the Dieppe Commandos.
