67's to Host Quebec Ramparts on Labour Day

Press Release

uly 13, 2011 (Ottawa ON.): The Ottawa 67’s today confirmed they’ll play Patrick Roy’s Quebec Remparts in a CHL exhibition game on Labour Day Monday, September 5th at 2:00 PM, in the Ottawa Civic Centre. The game will mark the opening of the pre-season schedule for Ottawa and the closing of pre-season for the Remparts.

“This will be a great test for us to start the year,” said 67’s Owner and Governor, Jeff Hunt. “The Remparts will be in full regular season form and we’ll just be starting, but we’ve got strong cast of characters this year and we want to challenge them right out of the gate.”

The Remparts came within one victory of the QMJHL finals last season in a hard-fought, 7-game series against Gatineau. This season, their roster features 17 year old Russian rookie import centre Mikhail Grigorenko, who is already considered to be one of the top prospects for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and a strong candidate for the Russian National Junior Team, which will be here in Ottawa on November 10th for the Subway Challenge Series against Team OHL.
