AJHL Announces Round One Playoff Schedule

The Alberta Junior Hockey League today announced the complete Round One schedule for the 2011 AJHL Enerflex Cup Playoffs. The opening round of the 2011 AJHL Enerflex Cup Playoffs will commence on Thursday, February 24th in the South Division and Friday, February 25th in the North Division.

The top seven teams in each Division have qualified for the 2011 AJHL Playoffs. All series in Round One are best-of-five with the highest ranked seed awarded home ice advantage. The teams will playoff as follows: 2nd versus 7th place, 3rd versus 6th place, and 4th versus 5th place within their respective divisions.

The first place team in each division receives a bye during First Round Divisional Playoffs. The Spruce Grove Saints have earned a first round bye as regular season champions of the North Division for a third consecutive year. The Okotoks Oilers earned the South Division bye for the second year in a row.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League will crown Divisional Champions in the 2011 AJHL Enerflex Cup Playoffs. Each division will playoff to determine a divisional champion at the conclusion of Round Three. The North Division Champion and the South Division Champion will then compete in the League Final (Round Four) for the 2011 AJHL Enerflex Cup.

Round Two: March 5th - 16th, 2011

The first place team will play the lowest place team remaining in their division and the next highest placed team will play the other team in a best-of-seven series.

Round Three - League Semi-Finals: March 19th -29th, 2011
The remaining two teams in each division will playoff for the title of Division Champion in a best-of-seven series and advance to the League Final. (1 vs. 4 & 2 vs. 3)

Round Four - League Final (Enerflex Cup): April 1st - 12th, 2011
