Commandos announce details of Prospects camp

Press Release

The Dieppe Commandos Hockey Club announced today the details of the 2010 Prospect Camp that will give local kids an opportunity to showcase their talent.

The 2010 Commandos Prospect Camp will be held August 27th, 28th, 29th at the Arthur J.-LeBlanc arena and is open to any players born 1993 to 1995 who played last year at the Bantam AAA, Midget AAA (Development or Major) or High School level. This showcase will help the Commandos recruit local talent as they reload for a season that looks promising.

Just like last year, the camp will feature three scrimmages (6 hours on ice) and an off ice physical testing session. It will test the on ice abilities of each player and also evaluate their conditioning level. Only two teams with a maximum of 3 lines, 6 defenseman and 2 goalies per team will be accepted (34 players). A minimum of 4 players will join the 2010 Commandos main training camp scheduled to start August 28th. We encourage everyone to register early as we ran out of room very fast last year. Avoid disappointment and register now.

“This initiative was put together last year to make sure that talented local players have a chance to be seen. It is at the same time an excellent opportunity for these kids to be seen by many scouts of different levels. It will also be a great way for them to get prepared for Midget AAA or High School tryouts. Commandos scouting staff will obviously be there to evaluate the talent of these hockey players but I imagine that Midget and High School coaching staff will be there to recruit as they did last year,” said Jean-François Damphousse, director of operations for the Commandos.
