Alex Gudbranson Commits to Kingston Frontenacs

Press Release

Larry Mavety, Director of Hockey Operations and General Manager for the Kingston Frontenac Hockey Club is pleased to announce that the Frontenacs have signed their first round selection from the 2010 OHL Priority selection, Alex Gudbranson.

Gudbranson, the younger brother of Frontenacs’ Assistant captain Erik Gudbranson, is a right shooting defenseman selected 10th overall in May’s draft. The 6.02, 190 pound rookie will report to Training Camp in September.

“Alex will make a great addition to our hockey club,” said Mavety. “He has great size, a good shot, plays with an edge and isn’t afraid to mix it up if necessary”, he added.

Gudbranson played for the Ottawa Jr. 67's and competed in the 2010 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament and recently participated in the Team Ontario Under-17 Final Camp in Oshawa, ON.

Training Camp for the Frontenacs' Black and Gold will open on Wednesday September 1st as the players report for physicals and on-ice begins the following day.
